Reasons a provider may wish to follow this process:
- To augment an existing phone consultation and visually examine the patient
- Troubleshoot patients who are unable to join on desktop or do not have an email address
- Training patients to join a meeting link
THE PROVIDER WORKFLOW STEPS
Step 1 - It is recommended that you, the host, first download the “Lumeca Health” APP onto your smartphone:

Step 2 - While on the phone call with your patient, change your phone call to 'Speaker'.
Step 3 - Open the 'Lumeca Health' app, log into your account by entering your email address and password, then click ‘Log In’.
Step 4 - Tap 'Start New Meeting'
Step 5 - Audio/Video Permissions screen -
- 'Allow/Enable microphone' should be 'ON'. Your audio will be prioritized through the phone call..
- 'Allow/Enable camera' should be 'ON'.
- Click 'Start Video Meeting'.
Step 6 - Whenever prompted, you should 'Allow' both your camera and microphone.
Your prompt may differ slightly from these examples, depending on the browser & device you are using.
Step 7 - The 'Meeting Info' screen -
- Select 'Invite via SMS'.

Step 8 - Enter the participant's mobile phone number.
When ready, click 'Send Invitations'.
You will be directed into the video call.
Step 9 - Remain on the phone call with your patient/participant and provide them with these instructions:
- “DO NOT hang up. Switch your phone to speakerphone, if you haven’t already done so.
- Navigate away from the phone call to your text messages (or email) & locate the new message that you just received from me.
- Tap the ‘https://...’ link in the message.
- Allow/enable your camera and microphone, if prompted.
- On the Join Meeting screen, enter your name.
- When ready, tap 'Join Meeting'.”
Step 10 – ‘Admit’ your patient when you are prompted.
When the meeting is finished:
- The host will click ‘Leave Call’, ‘End Call for All’ & confirm.
- All participants are free to ‘Leave Call’ at anytime and rejoin the video meeting, provided it is still ongoing and has not been ended by the host.
THE PATIENT WORKFLOW STEPS
Your patient will receive an SMS text message or an email containing:
- The meeting 'https//...' meeting link
- Meeting ID
- Meeting Passcode
As your patient/participant is currently on the phone with you, they will remain on the phone and:
Step 1 - Switch to speakerphone by selecting the speaker button.
Step 2 - Navigate away from the phone call screen to their text messages or email.

Step 3 - Open the text message or email and tap the 'https//...' meeting link.

Step 4 - Whenever prompted, they should 'Allow' both their camera and microphone.
Their prompt may differ slightly from these examples, depending on the browser & device they are using.
Step 5 - The 'Join Meeting' screen will appear:
They must enter their name to identify themselves to you.
When they are ready, they tap 'Join Meeting/Join'.

Step 6 - They will be asked to wait on this screen for the meeting host to grant them access in the video meeting.
There may be a delay in the patient's appearance on the video call if they are using the same phone to speak with you.
When the meeting is finished:
- The patient will click ‘Leave Call’, then ‘Yes, Leave call’ to confirm.
- All participants are free to ‘Leave Call’ at anytime and rejoin the video meeting, provided it is still ongoing and has not been ended by the host.
