The mobile APP only serves as an extension of the web platform and does not include all available features (such as screen sharing while in video). To access all platform features, we recommend using the WEB version on a desktop or laptop workstation at https://virtualvisit.saskatchewan.ca/ .
Before you begin using the Lumeca Health App, you must first: |
1. Be invited by email to join a virtual clinic |
2. Create your account on the web using a desktop or laptop computer |
3. Join the virtual clinic you are invited to |

Note: The screenshots displayed below might exhibit slight variations compared to what you observe on your mobile device, because of differences in device design and screen resolution. Nevertheless, the functionality remains consistent across all devices, ensuring the same user experience, regardless of your chosen device.
Download the 'Lumeca Health' APP / Log Into Your Account / Get Started
Step 1 - Go to either the Apple App Store or Google Play store (depending on the type of mobile device you are using:

Step 2 - You will be directed to App Store for Apple products or the Google Play Store for android products.
- Search for and download 'Lumeca Health'.

- Once downloaded, ‘Open’ the APP.

Step 3 - Initially, after downloading and first opening the APP, you will see this screen. (This screen will only appear the first time you use the APP. Afterwards, you will be taken directly to the Login page after opening the APP).
- If you do see this screen, click the 'Log In or Sign Up' button.
Step 4 - Enter your 'Lumeca Health clinic user account login credentials (email address and password), then click 'Login'.
Step 5 - You will be asked if you would like to enroll in biometrics. Select 'Yes' or 'No'. You may refer to this article - "Adding Biometrics to the Login Process on a Mobile Device"
Step 6 - You will be directed to the 'Home' screen. Press 'Home' along the bottom of the screen at any time, to return to this screen.
Step 7 - If you are connected with more than one virtual clinic, you must select the clinic you are currently working in.
Click the drop-down arrow beside the clinic name at the top of the 'Home' screen, then choose your clinic.

Run the 'Pre-Call' Test
The Pre-Call Test is a brief 1-minute check of your device’s camera, microphone and connectivity. Note: ALWAYS 'Allow/Enable' your device's camera and microphone.
It is recommended you run this test each time you log into the ‘Lumeca Health’ APP (or more often if desired) to ensure everything is working properly on your device before you begin virtual sessions.
Step 1 – Click 'Menu’ along the bottom of the screen, then select ‘Pre-Call Test’.
Step 2 – Review the ‘Test Audio/Video Quality’ screen, then click ‘Start Test’.
Step 3 - The first time you use the 'Lumeca Health' app and run the 'Pre-Call Test', you will be prompted for permissions to your camera and microphone.
Note: If you have done this previously and you see 'Allowed' for both camera and microphone, skip to 'Step 4'.

Select 'Allow' for access to the camera. |
Click ‘Not Allowed’ for each, then turn them on. Note: this can also be done under your 'Device Settings'. |
Select 'Allow' for access to the microphone. |
Both Camera and Microphone should say 'Allowed'. Once they do, click 'Done’. |
Step 4 – If prompted again, tap 'Start Test', otherwise the test will proceed. Ensure your device is on a stable surface and you make noise, so your camera and microphone are tested properly.
If the Pre-Call test fails or the results are bad: |
| - Make sure other applications on your device are not using your microphone/ camera or are closed. |
| - Make sure you are connected to the internet/WIFI. |
| - Make sure your microphone and camera are Enabled/Allowed under your ‘Device Settings’ for the ‘Lumeca Health' APP. |
Step 5 – After receiving a successful test, Go Back to the 'Menu’ screen by clicking the (on Apple devices) or
(on Android devices) in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Step 6 - Press ‘Home’ along the bottom of your screen, to return to the ‘Home’ screen.
Join a Video Meeting You Are Invited to as a Guest/Participant
Note: The meeting host and care team members from the same virtual clinic who have also been invited to attend, access scheduled meetings from the 'Consultations' tab after logging into their 'Lumeca Health' account. |
Step 1 - Login with your email address and password.
Step 2 - On the 'Home' screen, click 'Join a Meeting/Join Video Meeting'.

Step 3 - Whenever prompted, you should 'Allow' both your camera and microphone.
Step 4 - The 'Join a Meeting' screen:
- If on the web on any device, you should see yourself in video and see the microphone volume bar moving. Note: you are not yet in the video meeting.
- You may test your audio and video equipment by clicking ‘Test Your Connection/ Test Audio and Video’. The test takes approximately 1 minute, then will provide results.
- Type in the Meeting ID and Passcode manually from the information provided in your email or SMS text message.
- As you are logged in, it is not necessary to add your name to identify yourself, as the system picks this up from your account information.
- It is recommended you leave your microphone and camera ‘ON’. You may turn these OFF once in the video, if desired.
- If you want your camera/microphone settings and name saved for next time, check ‘Remember my preferences’.

Step 5 - When ready to join the video meeting, click 'Join/Join Meeting'. If you are not part of the meeting host's clinic, you will have to wait to be admitted into the meeting by the host.

Start an 'On-Demand' Video Meeting
Step 1 - On the 'Home' screen, click 'Start New Meeting'.
Step 2 - Audio/Video Permissions screen -
- 'Allow/Enable microphone' should be 'ON'. Your audio will be prioritized through the phone call.
- 'Allow/Enable camera' should be 'ON'.
- Click 'Start Video Meeting'.
Step 3 - Whenever prompted, you should 'Allow' both your camera and microphone.
Your prompt may differ slightly from these examples, depending on the browser & device you are using.
Step 4 - The Meeting Information Screen - Choose one of the options available to send your participant(s) the meeting information:
- 'Copy' - The copied information includes the web 'https...' URL link only, which you must 'paste' into the body of any email platform you choose to use.
- 'View Meeting Invitation' - opens a screen that displays all the Meeting Invitation info, including the web URL link, Meeting ID and Passcode, date and time (if a scheduled meeting), and instructions, which you must 'Copy' & paste into the body of any email platform you choose to use.
- 'Invite via Email' - opens your computer's default email platform. All meeting invitation information will automatically generate into the body of the email.
- 'Send Invitation via SMS' will send the Meeting Information by SMS text message. You must know your participant's cell number.
When using 'Send Invitation via SMS', you must next:
- Manually enter the participant's mobile phone number. If the number entered is incorrect, you will be prompted and the 'Send Invitations' button will remain unavailable.
- If inviting more than one person, click '+Add Another' and add their mobile phone number(s).
- Select whether or not you are currently on a phone call with your patient/participant.
When ready, tap 'Send Invitations'.
Note: You can also access the 'Meeting Information' at any time during the meeting, by clicking the '3 dots' on the top-right of the screen and selecting 'Get Join-In Information'. |
Step 5 - Once the invitation has been sent to your participant(s), wait for them to arrive.
- Invited participants who are part of your virtual clinic, will automatically enter the video meeting.
- You must either 'Admit' or 'Decline' those who are not part of your virtual clinic.

Step 6 - 'Video Meeting Summary' - the host may add a meeting note, if desired.
When complete, click 'Done'.
Start a 'Scheduled' Video Meeting
Step 1 - On the bottom of the ‘Home’ screen, click 'Consults'. You will be directed to the ‘Active and Waiting’ screen:
Step 2 - You have the options to see scheduled meetings for 'Past & Today', 'Today', or ‘Past' by clicking the drop-down arrow near the top of the screen.

Step 3 - Within each scheduled meeting frame, there are 3 dots.
When you tap the ‘3 dots’, you will see options, such as:
- 'Get Join-In Information' (meeting info to send to guests being invited to attend)
- 'View Participants' (those who are invited to this meeting)
- 'Cancel/Decline Meeting' (‘Cancel’ if you are the host or their admin support/’Decline’ if you are an invited participant or their admin support)
Step 4 - Get Join-In Information - The Meeting Information Screen - Choose one of the options available to send your participant(s) the meeting information:
- 'Copy' - The copied information includes the web 'https...' URL link only, which you must 'paste' into the body of any email platform you choose to use.

Step 5 - Tap onto the meeting, when you are ready to join.
Step 6 -
- Check to enable your microphone and camera for use within the video itself.
- When ready, click 'Start Video Meeting'.
Step 7 - If prompted for the APP/web browser to access your microphone and camera, always 'Enable/Allow'.
Step 8 - Once the invitation has been sent to your participant(s), wait for them to arrive.
- Invited participants who part of your virtual clinic, will automatically enter the video meeting.
- You must either 'Admit' or 'Decline' those who are not part of your virtual clinic.

Step 6 - 'Video Meeting Summary' - the host may add a meeting note, if desired.
When complete, click 'Done'.
Start a Phone Meeting
- Begin a Phone Meeting Between Yourself and One Other Person -
Step 1 - On the 'Home' screen, click 'Start a Phone Meeting'.
Step 2 - Review the information on the screen.
Step 3 - Enter the patient or participant's phone number and your phone number. Note: your number always remains hidden from the person being called.
Step 4 - Click 'Continue/Start Phone Meeting'.
Step 5 - The system will call you first. Answer and wait on the line for your patient/ participant to connect.
Send a Message
- Refer to Zendesk Section - 'Lumeca Messages' -
- Clinic users can initiate a new chat - jump to 'Start a New Chat'
- Clinic users can join messages they are invited to - jump to 'Join an Active Chat'
- Participants have access to some features within the message - jump to 'Messages' Features'
Start a New Chat -
Step 1 - On the 'Home' screen, click 'Send a Message'.
Step 2 - Enter a chat 'Title', then click 'Continue'.
Step 3 - Find your chat recipients; either:
- Start typing their name in the 'Search' box
- Select filter(s) - 'Clinic', 'Location', 'Role' or 'Job Title'
- Scroll through the list
Tap their name to select them. Their name will appear near the top of the screen. You may remove anyone by clicking the 'X' beside their name.
When ready, tap 'Start Chat'.
Join an Active Chat -
Step 1 - Click 'Messages' at the bottom of the screen. There are two sections: 'In Progress' and 'Archived'.
In Progress - You will see all active messages you are a part of. 'Unread' messages will be highlighted and contain a red dot.
Step 2 - Tap onto a message to enter it.
Archived - Messages you were a part of that are archived. Click onto the message to view it or click the '3 dots' for options.
'Messages' Features -
- Send chats by typing into the 'Messages' bar.
- 3 Dots at top of screen - 'Start Video Call', 'View Files' (documents or photos that were uploaded) and 'Archive' (feature for message creator only).
- Archive a Message - messages may only be archived/unarchived by the message creator. Click the 3 dots at the top-right of your message, select 'Archive'. You must then confirm this action.
- Participants List - Click the 'people icon' to see a list of meeting participants. Here you may 'Add' or 'Remove' participants.
View Past Meetings
- Search for Past Video and Phone Meetings You Have Participated In -
Step 1 - On the 'Home' screen, click 'Past Meetings'.
Your most recent video and phone meetings will display on the screen OR you may search using the ‘Search’ field at the top of the screen.
Once located, click onto the meeting you wish to review. A brief ‘Note’ may be added, if needed.
