While sharing a PowerPoint presentation during a Lumeca Health meeting, you may want to view and manipulate your PowerPoint while simultaneously seeing the video meeting participants and shared content.
Microsoft PowerPoint does not give you the option to shrink or split your screen while in 'Presenter View', however, the following steps make it possible:

Open Your PowerPoint Presentation
Step 1: Prior to starting your Lumeca Health meeting:
- Make sure the PowerPoint presentation you want to share is open on your computer.
- Ensure the presentation is not in 'full-screen mode'.
Step 2: In the PowerPoint, click 'View' in the toolbar, then 'Reading View' in the menu that appears - see below.
You should now be able to see your slideshow in "Presenter View" and also have the ability to change the size of its window. This will allow you to shrink or split your screens to accommodate your viewing requirements.
Share Your Screen (PowerPoint Presentation)
Step 1: After setting up your PowerPoint, start your video meeting.
Step 2: Click "Share Screen", which is located at the bottom of your video screen.
Step 3: Refer to the table below which shows the features for each web browser, and select the share option that best suits you:

Split Computer Screen While Screen Sharing - for Windows Desktop/Laptop
Split your screen with your document on one half and the video meeting on the other half:

Press and hold your left mouse button on the tab with your video meeting. Carry the tab down on the screen and let go of the left mouse button. Resize the screen to fit half of the monitor. Repeat the steps for the document you are sharing and place it into the other half of the monitor. |
Keyboard Shortcuts |
While in your video meeting, press and hold the 'Windows' icon. Press the left or right arrow keys on your keyboard. If you press the left arrow key, the window shows on the left side of the screen. If you press the right arrow key, it shows on the right side of the screen. If needed, resize the screen to fit half of the monitor. Repeat the steps for the document you are sharing and place it into the other half of the monitor. |
You should have the two windows side-by-side displayed on your monitor (one half will show the video call (with the shared presentation) and the other half will show your presentation/document, as seen in the image below.
Split Computer Screen for Screen Sharing - on Apple Mac Desktop/Laptop
Step 1: Place your cursor into your video screen, then move the pointer to the green button in the top-left corner of the window. Choose 'Tile Window to Left of Screen' or 'Tile Window to Right of Screen' from the menu.

Step 2: On the other side of the screen, click on the PowerPoint presentation you want to work with and resize it accordingly.
You should have the two windows side-by-side displayed on your monitor (one half will show the video call (with the shared presentation) and the other half will show your presentation/document, as seen in the image below.
To customize your split screens:
- Resize the windows by dragging the edges, or
- Adjust proportions with your cursor
- If one side needs to be bigger than the other, move your cursor to the separator bar located in the middle of the two screens, then drag it to the left or to the right.
To exit split screen:
- Maximize one of the program windows by clicking the maximize icon at the top-right of the screen.
