Step 1 - Select 'Messages' on the left navigation bar.
Step 2 - Click 'Start Chat'.
Step 3 - Enter a name that helps to identify the subject of the message, then click 'Next'.
Step 4 - Add Participants - At least one other participant besides yourself must be added to initiate a new message. You may add others later into your active message(s).
To invite participants to your message, click the box beside their name. To find them in the available list either,
- Scroll through the list to find their name, or
- Start typing in a name in the 'Name' field or use any or all of the 'Search' filters to narrow down your search.

To 'Remove' a selected participant, simply uncheck them.
Your selected participant(s) will be listed beside 'Selected Participants:'
FYI:
- Users listed will be those who are registered Lumeca account holders and your invited guests who have accepted their invitation from you and created a Lumeca 'Guest' account.
- Invited participants will have access to the entire chat history and all files shared.
- Invited guests will only have access to messages they have been added to. They cannot start new messages, nor can they archive messages.
- You may also add additional participants to an active message later.
Step 5 - The 'Start Chat' button will be greyed out until you choose one or more participants to invite. When your participants list is ready, click 'Start Chat'.
You will be directed into the message and can start chatting with invited participants once they arrive.
Your active messages will appear under 'In Progress Chats'.
The Message Screen & Features:
- Name of Message
- List of invited participants
- 'View Participants' button - list of invited participants, as well as 'Remove' participants button.
- 'Add Participants' - additional participants/guests may be invited to join
- 'Video Chat' - participants can start a video chat at any time
- 'Archive' - end the message. Note: only the message creator may Archive a message.
- 'Files' - attach photos, videos or documents to the message

- Message chat window - where messages will appear
- 'Message' - participants may type their chat message, then hit 'Send'
- 'Send' - click to send a chat message
- click this icon to upload a document, video or photo file
